“Ah used tay be in the furty fairth masel. Afore that I wuz way the lights in Souff Amerka an the Macaw, that whur I kenned ma trade in powdur.”
Colonel Ambrose Flossorc listened to the Joccian as he gave his report into the destruction of the citadel of Los Burpoeoz in eastern Catalucia the previous month. He was pleased with McTavish but the Rat was not the kind of Officer to take to the palace, he was a fighting officer and that suited Flossorc very well. That was what Whelling-Turn needed now to beat the Elves back.
The Colonel asked a few more questions but he could see that McTavish was not really listening, in fact he kept fiddling with the small pouches about his person, looking for some tobacci but finding more and more black powder instead. Perhaps it would be wise to send the Rat on his way before what happened to the citadel happened to Colonel Ambrose Flossorc as well! He dismissed McTavish.
“Aye, so if yur done wi me purhaps ah can git back tay blowing up mordies wee buggers, sir.”

Rules for Flintloque & Slaughterloo
In your games of Flintloque treat Officer McTavish as follows:
Ordinance Officer McTavish is a Highland Rat of Experienced / Light Infantry status armed with ‘McTavishes Pistol’, a keg of black powder and a lit cheroot. With this equipment and abilities he costs 66 Points.
In play McTavish acts as normal except that he possesses a unique pistol of his own design that has a rifled barrel and a series of glass lenses in a leather scope case mounted upon it. The pistol is treated as a High Elf / Ferach Pistol and reloads as normal but it gives the firer a single positive column shift to their benefit when loosing a shot.
The keg of blackpowder may be used in a special scenario for demolition work but in a typical scenario it is used as a static grenade. It must be placed and then lit (one action) it may be set for one turn or two turns hence. When the fuse runs out it explodes with a strength of 20 and a blast radius of 15cm in all directions. The fuse may be snuffed out in the normal manner.
The engineers tools on the rock can be used to give a bonus to initiative. If a character remains in base to base contact with the rock (it cannot be moved during play) then add +1 to that sections roll of initiative each Turn.
In your games of Slaughterloo treat Officer McTavish as follows:
(These rules add to those in Slaughterloo 2nd Edition)
OFFICER MCTAVISH (SPECIAL UNIT OFFICER) (60 POINTS)
While not normally a line officer McTavish may be used to command any Joccian Rat Line or Light Infantry Unit.
Duck Laddies!
Due to his skills McTavish gives his Unit a +2 to its Defence Factor (DF) in ANY attacks made upon the Unit by Artillery of any type. This applies only to artillery attacks no other type of attack.
