FERACH DIBERIA
THE DUTCHY OF COLTZ
The lands of Diberia are tundra. It is commonly known to the Valonese that Diberia is a troubled land, its territory invaded and conquered by many. With the end of the Ferach Revolution the long suffering Diberians were faced with a choice that few would envy.
While the Emperor Mordred had promised to banish the Ostarians and the Krautians from Diberia and install a free and enlightened state in place of the warring Were Packs, the Elves were many hundreds of miles from the Diberian Border and the massive Nielve river. Not only were the Elves and their army so far away but the hated enemy, the Dogs of Ostaria controlled most of the river crossings. When Mordred attacked Ostaria it was clear that once he had defeated them he would continue north to the Kartoffelburg where the largest and strongest bridges over the Nielve could be found.
The choices were to allying with the Elves and becoming part of the mighty Ferach Armee, and in doing so having to wage a private war against the despised Dogs and the Dwarves until the imperial eagles arrived or remaining independent. Many would have chosen to remain aloof and to hope that the Elves and Dogs would blast each other to ruin, but for the inhabitants of Diberia this would be impossible.
Valon did not generally know the vastness of the Witchlands and its aloof inhabitants. True, the Vampyres had fought with the Ferach against the Ostarians in Nepolise, but memories were short and only the Diberians knew the real evil that lurked far to the north in the snowy wilds. If Diberia did not ally with the Ferach in their war with Ostaria to recapture their flighty Empress then the Elves might not keep their promise of liberty and the deaths of the Werewolves of the Visthowla Legions in Nepolise would have been for nothing. Also those who were weak often fell prey to the machinations of the Witchlands Vampyres and their master the Dark Czar of Moscova; allies were worth the greater risk of standing alone.
When the announcement was made in the walled city of Coltz that the Diberian council of elders would send envoys of eternal friendship to the Ferach Emperor it sparked a riot of nation shattering intensity. The agents of the Witchlands K.G.B had infiltrated the populace and when the announcement was made the crowds howled their rage and bared their fangs at their once leaders the Centaurs. After much bloodshed the city was secured and the rebels expelled, but it was too late the rebellion had spread to the rest of Diberia and whole towns simply emptied as the Werewolves who lived there marched to Vilnau and their new masters. While the countryside swarmed with packs of rebels the Centaur leaders of Coltz along with their Werewolf countrymen declared themselves the Grand Dutchy of Coltz with the walled city at its heart; leaving the rest of Diberia to the elements and the rebels who now wore the uniforms of the Star Wraith.
When the Elves did arrive bearing news of the approach of the gigantic Grande Armee du Norde and their Emperor's intention to invade the Witchlands to recover the ancient legendary artefact the Sword of Shivalia, the Centaurs of Coltz tried to convince the Elves to caution but were ignored. Many Werewolf regiments and Centaur battalions marched into the Witchlands with the Grand Armee du Norde to fight their own wolfen kind and something much, much worse.
THE VISTHOWLA LEGION
Often the mere mention of the name of the Visthowla Legion makes enemies flee from battle, these are the crack infantry of the Werewolves. Huge werewolves form the legions, towering over their comrades armed with the best weapons and led by the best officers.
