55517-U Undead Cuirassiers

None of the Elves could see the enemy, they were off in the floating snow, but they could here them well enough. The Elves heard an increasing sound of perhaps sixty feet thumping on the barren soil, the jangle of metal work and the creaking of leather along with the rattle of what sounded like loose tackle. It must be an artillery patrol with beast pulled cannons on their rotting limbers. An ambush would take care of the poorly armed gunners and perhaps a few useful things could be salvaged for the next march.

Easing back the hammers of their well used muskets they prepared to charge into the street and destroy the Undead. The noise was very loud now, the foe were within a mere score of feet of the first house. Now!

As one the Elves arose and levelled their muskets and draw their swords.they died in that moment of confidence.

Atop a long dead horse that still carried a now dead rider sat a terrifying figure. A tattered uniform with heelless riding boots a black iron cuirass and the iron helm with long red plume that marked the dreaded Spekrov Cuirassiers. The skeleton turned its head impossibly more than ninety degrees to the closest Elf, it rose a long straight sword and seemed to grin, its lower jaw clacking as it laughed. The drums began their rhythm. Along with the other fifteen Cuirassiers it charged into the ruins, making a bloody squealing butchery of the Elves who had expected mere shambling Zombies. The last Cuirassier into the fray slashed its horses hip bone and let the trailing gun tackles fall like many hands to the snow.'

The Spektrov Cuirassiers

Not encountered during the endless march towards Moskova by the Elves these riders are the heavy hitters of the Undead cavalry and for the dead they are of an excellent quality. Carrying long straight swords and wearing a lot of iron armour these soulless killers can be found at every major battle, leaving the routine hunting of stragglers to the Zombiski Cossacks and others of less value. Unless they feel personal vengeance is merited.

Uniform

The Cuirassiers wear loose grey and or white cloth breeches and shirts with black or polished metal cuirass and helmet with red horsehair crescent plume. Facings are red or green and metal work is gold. Skeletal Horses have brown saddles and light blue horse blankets with a gold and red blanket roll.

Flintloque Information

In Flintloque an Undead Cuirassier is treated as a Skeleton mounted on a Skeletal Horse, they are armed with a Sword. Most of these troops are Fresh Undead troops and of good quality. OPTIONAL RULE As they wear a Cuirass you may optionally add a +1 to the riders DF against ranged fire only.

Slaughterloo Information

In Slaughterloo the Undead Cuirassiers are treated as Undead cavalry and have a normal Unit size of 10 models. They are best used as a heavy hitting strike force against an exposed or weak part of a Mortal Army's lines.
